Because you're happy

It's been a while..

Hey there,

So it's safe to say it's been a while. My last post was of November 2008, when I just turned 17, and it's 2013 now, and I'm 21.. So much has changed, and yet a lot has stayed the same. I've quickly read all my posts and it's remarkable how pleasant I found them to read. I'm actually kind of proud of myself for the level of English I had at that age, I mean I know there were some spelling mistakes, but that's understandable.

But instead of barfing all over this screen with my nostalgic feelings, let's look at a few things that changed over ten past 4/5 years :)

I graduated high school
And hearing that news was probably one of the best moments of my life, no kidding. I told you in a few posts that my grades weren't always that great, but I guess maybe I exaggerated a little about that. The first few years of high school were pretty easy for me, it's the last few years that were really difficult. I even failed the 5th year, so I ended up spending 7 years in high school (which isn't long in the Netherlands, considering the whole system is different than in the US).

I started studying psychology :)
I'm currently in my third year, and things are going really well. My average grade over the last 2 years is probably around 7.3 out of 10, so that's pretty good. Also, many people have to resit exams in order to finish the year, but didn't have to :) I'm finally feeling like the work I spent into homework and projects are paying off, which I never really felt I did in the last few years of high school.

I have a new boyfriend
It's actually kind of weird to call him a new one, because we've been together for more than 4 years now :) So it's safe to say I do kind of like him a little bit ;) The one other relationship I've ever had ended up being one big (exaggerated) tragedy. I ended up feeling really miserable in the end of that relationship, because I felt like it was just a one way street (my way), so I broke up with him, only to immediately crawl back to him and feeling even more miserable when that didn't work out. So after feeling really teenage-like depressed for about 6 months, I started hanging out with the best person in the world, and I've been incredibly happy with him ever since.

Mickey died :(
I loved the little guy.. he was really sweet :( We've had other birds since then, but of course they don't really compare.. We bought an overly active green bird that we named Jip, but he died after six months due to something weird he ate (he ate literally everything in his reach, so it was kind of inevitable). Then we bought an adorable blue budgie, named Charlie :) He's still alive today (like birds should!) and he whistles the imperial march from star wars (not perfectly though, but people clearly recognize it!). He's really fun to watch, but unlike Mickey, he doesn't enjoy human company that much.. But who knows, maybe that will change someday :)

I still play the Sims and am a huge fan of animes
And I'm really happy about that, for some reason :) I guess I just like that fact that these hobbies weren't just phases of hypes that I went along with, they are really genuine my interests :) I started playing the Sims 3 last February, and so fare I only have 2 expansion packs. But hey, these things cost about 40 euros each! And I had a great time playing the Sims 2 for a long time :) I also started playing World of Warcraft since June 2012. I'm quite embarrassed to say that I'm really bad at it :p And I don't know any people that play it, so it's probably gonna be that way for a long time. But ah well, I mainly play it for the beautiful landscape and the battle pets :)
My love for animes is also pretty strong :) I've extended the list of animes I've seen quite a bit, and I still want to learn Japanese one day and visit Japan :) I've recently watched Steins;Gate, which was really good! Another one I watched was Angel Beats, and even though most of the anime didn't really appeal to me, the last few episodes really got to me.. Anyway, here's a list of all the animes I've watched that I think are noteworthy ;)

  • Boku Ga Ita
  • Fruits Basket
  • Clannad, Kanon and Air (waterfalls of tears, honestly)
  • Kimi ni Todoke (really good, though I missed any real progress at the end)
  • Lovely Complex
  • Mushishi
  • Neon Genesis Evangelion
  • Special A
  • Strawberry Panic!
  • Toradora! (probably one of my favorites)
  • Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood (definitely my favorite! It's so damn good o.0)
  • Vampire Knight
So now that you have a bit more recent knowledge about me (even though no one ever reads these posts), I think I'll leave off telling you that I'll try to post a bit more..but knowing myself a little longer than today, that probably won't happen anytime soon. So, take care and see you next time :)

xXx
Our beautiful Jip,who, unfortunately, died after six months..

Our adorable bird Charlie, who luckily still keeps us company with his Star Wars whistles :)
